Biography
Jamie Wright is a baritone and vocal percussionist with the Grammy-winning vocal group The Swingles and Co-Founder and Technical Director of WorldChoir. He works across performance, vocal education, music technology, and large-scale choral projects, leading workshops and masterclasses for singers, choirs, and conductors internationally, alongside live performance, recording, and broadcast work.
With The Swingles, he performs worldwide in concerts, recordings, and education projects. His work in TV has included consultancy and vocal coaching alongside recording for major film and television soundtracks, including Disney’s Cruella and Apple TV’s Palm Royale.
In 2020, Jamie co-founded WorldChoir with conductor Tori Longdon, now a global singing community of over 30,000 participants across 75+ countries. He leads the organisation’s digital platforms and international recording projects as well as delivering choral director training worldwide. The initiative received the Royal Philharmonic Society Inspiration Award in 2021.
Jamie is also developing digital tools for music learning, including PartPlayer, an interactive practice platform for singers supported by Innovate UK funding. He studied Music at the University of York and completed a Master’s in Vocal Performance at the Royal Academy of Music, graduating with distinction. In 2022, he was elected an Associate of the Royal Academy of Music (ARAM).
