Biography
Jamie studied Music at the University of York and completed the vocal performance Masters programme at the Royal Academy of Music, graduating with distinction. In 2022 he was awarded Associate of the Royal Academy of Music (ARAM).
After graduating, he worked closely with Gareth Malone as an arranger and vocal coach for The Naked Choir and Gareth’s Best in Britain, going on to join Gareth’s choir ‘Voices’ for a UK tour and subsequent recordings.
As a singer he has performed at the BBC Proms and Shakespeare’s Globe, appeared as a soloist at The Barbican with Britten Sinfonia Voices, and sang at the Tower of London Chapels Royal. He has also featured on numerous film soundtracks as a session singer with London Voices.
In 2020 Jamie co-founded the Stay at Home Choir (now WorldChoir) with conductor Tori Longdon, bringing together over 30,000 participants from 75+ countries. Alongside his performing work, he contributes to the development and delivery of the organisation’s digital projects and large-scale international initiatives. The project won the Royal Philharmonic Society Inspiration Award in 2021.
